Hi or High dear Readers…
I was actually writing an email to the illustrious researcher and writer named Mitchell James S****** affectionately known as “Mitchy” to us on the road…
However I’ve written huge long detailed emails over the years since 2010 and could have made full articles of them like today’s intended email that I just said “f*ck it” and decided to publish for the hell of it.
Dearest Mitchy;
So how’s the reggae refugee today?
I hope You’re staying free from excess ganja and Rastafarian dreadlocks!
I did wonder HOW Mitchy chose smoking weed all that time his preferred methodology…
I eliminated the idea of you making blunts out of cigars,
Thought of Mitchy rolling a joint highly likely but not your pet way…
Then a pipe,
or perhaps a bong…
And what type of weed You prefer whether Indica or Sativa strains pure or hybrid stoner types!
We were watching Cheech & Chong’s “Up In Smoke” for the live show scene with Cheech Marin in the girl’s pink ballet tutu playing live battle of bands contest scene most hilariously and admittedly envisioning Mitchy in that tutu playing bass for that song as Alice Bowie!
Mischievous thoughts no weed today…
in fact no LSD or X either today or tomorrow lol.
I remarked to son Justin it’s quite an experience to taste LSD before pot age 9…
We both laughed…
Yes I’ve smoked weed with my son and so on through time…
Did both clean Acid and ‘X’ with him as he requested, him knowing it would be clean primo not dirty street dope.
My thought at the time decades ago was to teach him to respect it as a sacrament and not a party drug.
That 60’s counterculture that guided a lot of my thinking after Monterey Pop in 67…
Justin asked what it was like when I got back to Casper that summer from LA and the folks quizzing me on what we did…
And me not being able to really tell them knowing that would really upset them and get Yvonne into trouble…
Going to Monterey Pop with a 9 year old out of 3rd grade dropping Owsley LSD pills with surreal artist Wilfried Sätty and occultist Grady McMurtry Sr. = Hymenæus Alpha.
And their Scarlet Women with us from the Bay Area… headed to Monterey Pop that June 1967.
And other curious Agape Lodge OTO luminaries that went with us in that caravan trip from Hollywood to San Francisco beyond Haight Ashbury and Berkeley to Monterey Pop
then us back to LA as they went back home north to Bay Area.
The girls gave me their 1929 hard cover edition of Aleister Crowley’s “Magick In Theory and Practice” to read on the road in the back…
I told my grandparents I had a real technicolor experience in Cali that summer with Yvonne and Julie when I got home in Casper BFE Wyoming…
And they laughed having seen the Summer of Love and Hippies on B&W TV news back then….
They had NO idea what I was talking about…
Ah life and all our dirty little secrets…
