I don't think it's a can of worms! It's a topic I've read about before and I've listened to plenty of Throbbing Gristle. I think parapsychology is an interesting topic and I wouldn't tell people not to participate in experiments or anything unlike Carroll. My problem with parapsychologists is always that there seems to be this complete refusal to theorize. Additionally they always whitewash their research and that's obvious as well. Like no, people aren't going to line up for twin telepathy experiments when they know about Stargate and think Firestarter/Stranger Things might be a documentary (I don't think it is even if I think there are other issues, but trust in institutions is low and trust in intelligence institutions that want ESP and might be hiding aliens etc. is the lowest of all.)
Order of Nine Angles though, that's usually given a much later date than Crowley, would you mind writing about that? I've read about them as well since they're basically Satanists who like to murder people as their cult initiation. They like whichever ideology they think gets them the most followers, whether it's Nazism, Stalinism, or Charles Manson's cult, but they're not actually right-wing like outlets like Vice say. They basically just believe in evil, but people who don't believe evil exists can't say that, which I feel like is sort of a microcosm of the problems with news reporting today. Everyone treats left vs. right, Israel vs. Palestine, etc. as the metric but there are good and evil people in most of these groups, you just have to actually be able to say good vs. evil to see it.
It was a can of Wyrms not worms 🪱 my dear. Very different species… and it’s a very long complex history… far more than known groups that a lot of fear monger disinformation was put out about during the late 80’s Satanic Panic era.
But since you asked I’ll answer Your request in next articles.

I just saw this and it reminded me of this post!
Yes, it was a lot of pompously pseudo intellectual flatulent platitudes… seriously that and parts 2 & 3:

Carroll in 80’s was cataloguing works by Austin Osman Spare and others like the Order of the Nine Angles going back to Crowley before he died 1947.
Liber Null & Psychonaut was published 1987 by esoteric Samuel Weiser Inc.
There were several very different Chaos Magick groups like Thee Temple of Psychick Youth with Genesis P-Orridge (RIP).
Methinks I opened a can of Wyrms chatting about the old Chaos 🎭.
C’est la Vie.
